Projects - Collaborative
4 Rooms with Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop
I had the privilege of collaborating with the one and only Solistenensemble Kaleidoskop, a groundbreaking group based out of Berlin. Together with three other soloists (Efla Run, Vladimir Waltham, Zefira Valova), the artistic director Daniella Strasfogel, lighting designer Ladislav Zajac and composer Sarah Nemtsov, we created an intricate program that pushed the limits of the concert hall.

INDUSTRY The Story of Power - with Oerknal!
Oerknal! - a new music ensemble based out of the Netherlands - presented INDUSTRY (The Story of Power) in collaboration with video artist Chris Paul Daniels to create a visual and aural experience exploring the implications of creating machine-like music and the consequences it has for performers, listeners, and society.
The program included compositions by "Bang on a Can" founders Michael Gordon and David Lang, the wildly uncompromising Sam Pluta, ecclectic Dutch composer Bart de Vrees, and centered around Steve Reich's "Violin Phase".
Bach & Vivaldi: Limitation with Madison Bach Musicians
In this concert we explore the imitative writing of these two masters of the Baroque era through their use of the fugue form. Fugues are created when a musical line is introduced by one voice and then repeated with slight variations by any number of other voices. It’s always an amazing experience for audiences to hear and see how the different voices interact!
The concert itself is structured much like a fugue. Starting from a single voice, the concert alternates between the music of Vivaldi and Bach with each new section of the performance requiring an additional performer. It culminates in a full orchestral performance of the D minor Concerto Grosso of Vivaldi along side a string arrangement of Bach’s own transcription of the same piece. Vivaldi has simplicity and Bach the complexity, but both play the fugue game with equal vigor!
